The Germantown Community Scholarship Fund (GCSF) is powered almost entirely by volunteers. Our mission to advance the higher education goals of Germantown’s youth would not be possible without the time, talent, and passion of our community members.
Whether you can give a few hours or take on a leadership role, there’s a place for you at GCSF.
Volunteer Opportunities
Board Member
Help guide the future of GCSF through strategic decision-making. Based on your skills and passions, you might contribute in marketing, finance, community outreach, or fundraising. Board members meet monthly and participate in major events.
Committee Member
Work with a small group to support a specific area of need and share ideas with the board. Committees include:
Auction & Dinner Committee
o Plan and organize our largest annual fundraiser
o Collect donations and create marketing materials
o Help with event setup and cleanup
o Meets monthly (Sept–Feb), weeknights
Scholarship Committee
o Establish scholarship guidelines
o Review applications and select recipients
o Plan and attend the May scholarship event
o Meets 1–3 times (Feb–May)
Financial Committee
o Review monthly financials and propose yearly budget
o Oversee endowment and financial strategy
o Collaborate with financial advisors and donors
o Meets 1–3 times per year as needed
Marketing Committee
o Create print and digital materials for events
o Update the GCSF website and social media
o Most work is flexible, with attendance at event meetings
Teacher Grant Committee
o Promote grants to district staff
o Review and award teacher grant applications
o Present recipients at the May banquet
o Meets 1–2 times per year
Mud Splash Committee
o Organize and promote our annual mud run fundraiser
o Secure sponsors, plan logistics, and manage event-day needs
o Meets monthly (Oct–June)
Event Volunteer
Support GCSF by volunteering at individual events. Roles vary and typically require a 3–5 hour commitment.
